From pure necessity
The Talbot family
Acquired a large automobile
The biggest Green Machine
Our street had ever seen
To transport their decent family from A to B
From our bored depravity
Hatched an elaborate scheme
Less for fun, more coz we're just mean
We'd hide among our shrubbery
Laying in waiting
And when we'd see their bus leaving out we would spring
And ride it down the street
To the back clinging
Past the school grinning
For all of our friends to see
Hitch-hiking recklessly into the city
So, I'm sitting in my place
When rumbling through the gates
The guttural sound that bus creates
Jump to my feet and make chase
And as I pick up pace
The driver's eyes and mine meet in space
He hits the brakes
And I hit his bus with my face
Blood all over the place
Egg all over my face
No sign of my mates
Such a joyful collection of songs. Nothing like quintessential Melbourne alternative rock to lift the spirits. Listening during yet another lockdown transports me to a band room in my favourite pub. Thanks for the music lads- looking forward to seeing you for real when we get outta here. Jacqui L

Listening to your new recording masterpiece as the sun sets over Coburg. Now, if I can only get the drummer rehearsing next door to keep the beat to your songs. Roy Greer
